On 18th September, 2010, MUKTI has successfully completed disbursement of 1st installment for Talented Student Sponsorship (TSS) Programme, 2010, at Indumati Bhaban, Jadavpur to 76 Students. Successful selected Talented Students were from Class XI-XII, Science & Arts Graduation, Engineering and Medical background.
Prof. Siddharta Dutta, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University was the chief guest of the auspicious occasion and inaugurated the programme by lighting up a Diya.
The programme was inaugurated with a song by Ms. Payel Chakrabarty, Student of JU.
Mr Madhusudan Bairagi, Secretary of MUKTI, enlightened the overall projects that are going on in MUKTI.
Mr Sankar Halder, President of MUKTI, has given his hearty welcome message to all guests and TSS scholarship recipients over telephone and some overview of MUKTI.
This occasion was also graced by the presence of Prof Dipak Kumar Banerjee, Prof Mono Ranjan Khan, Prof Hrishikesh Halder, Prof Dulal Kumar Mondal, Gayatri Paul, Krishnendu Sengupta,Madhusudan Bairagi, and Debabrata Halder wherein all delivered a short speech.
One of the early recipients of TSS scholarship was Ms. Bularani Mondal, currently a third year B.A. student, narrated her experience of the sponsorship programme and contribution of MUKTI towards her studies. Guardian of one sponsored student also narrated how the TSS programme helped him to continue studies of his child.
The first recipient of the programme has received the TSS award from Prof. Siddharta Dutta.
Scholarship recipients and their parents from several districts of West Bengal such as South and North 24 Paragana, Hooghly, East and West Midnapore , Hoogly, Howrah , Siligury, Mursidabad. Sponsorship of Selected students would be continued.
